I will consider:-
academic writing (in the broad field of humanities and social studies – I have an interdisciplinary doctorate with specialist knowledge of literature, sociology, philosophy, women’s studies and postcolonial theory, etc. and a very good understanding of how to write a clear, well-organised research paper. creative writing my preference is for literary fiction and this can include short stories and novels
autobiography, biography and memoir I have a PhD in autobiography as theory and practice
essays, journalism, reviews. For examples of this kind of writing visit my blog, Letters From Trieste. I also taught journalism at Huron/Hult University in London for two years before moving to Trieste.
I will closely read your work and give you feedback on the following:
- structure and content
- style, vocabulary
- grammar, punctuation
I will help you prepare your manuscript to send off to an editor/ publisher. I will help you write a synopsis. I will advise you which parts of your manuscript to send in for consideration.

Coaching sessions
An initial 20 minute chat followed by 20 minutes coaching to allow you to get a feel for how coaching works and to ask any questions you may have. FREE
Coaching on all aspects of the writing life and the creative process, but my special skills include: inspiration; motivation; creative blocks; methods of working; and time management. All coaching prices include an ‘Action Plan’ after each session.

Editorial advice as part of a Coaching package
Where you wish feedback on work in progress to be included as part of your coaching conversation, a separate fee is charged for reading.
Reading fee: 1-20 pages of double-spaced A4: 35 €
21-50 pages of double-spaced A4: 60€
I read work in progress in-between sessions and feed back on this verbally within the coaching sessions, providing constructive criticism and editing advice. I also pencil-annotate your manuscript and this is returned to you.

Well, my Uncle Piero was a Diplomat and he wrote a Biography. It has been printed in Italian but never translated into English. I have the text on my PC.
