Saturday 28th November

Wordplay Writing Workshop

(Theme/content to be confirmed but – the traditional, organic wordplay all work, all play, all day workshop that we love and miss!!). Expect to be inspired, to write a lot of things you had no intention of writing and to finally write down what you’ve been wanting to write forever. Expect to leave with …ideas, enthusiasm, material, and a desire to sit down at the next opportunity and get on with your writing at last!

All levels welcome

Time: 10.30-4.30

Sunday 29th November

Afternoon Showcase 4-6pm

A version of the short story slam but without the ‘story’ element imposed – just a time limit. Let’s say 5 miutes BUT it does not pay to speed read! Remember, this is a performance. YOU should choose your piece in advance and practise reading it clearly – with expression. Go on, you know you want to.

Also, I think it would be fun to try our ‘patchwork quilt’ approach. That is, there is no known order in which pieces will be read out – though you must register your reading intent beforehand so we know numbers. The way it works is this…if you think your piece follows on, then it’s your turn. Trust me, it works!

Come and read your best offering – maybe an extract from your novel, a poem, a paragraph, a haiku – or two. Who knows?
